Margate as you’ve never seen it before…
Margate Art is devoted to England's original – and finest – seaside resort. Why? Because we love the place! And think it deserves celebrating in a visual feast of stunning images, not available anywhere else.
The mainstay of our collection is the work of East-End born artist, Julian Samiloff, who fell for Margate’s innumerable charms at an early age, while spending all his childhood holidays in the neighbourhood. Today, his obvious affection for the town shines through every piece he has created in his ever-evolving, visual homage to the town. In fact, we now have over 500 images to choose from, individually printed in-house using a Canon eight-colour process on high quality photographic paper, in a variety of sizes – available unframed, framed or mounted.
Based on his own photography, Julian manipulates the images on a Mac to stunning effect. Often surreal, sometimes weird, but always wonderful, you’ll never look at the likes of Dreamland, Turner Contemporary, Old Town, the Harbour Arm – even Arlington House – in the same way again.
Julian's prints might be unique, but that does not make them by any means unaffordable – prices start at just £2. Plus, there are generous discounts when you purchase three or more items.
Come and see for yourself. You’ll get a warm welcome and an even warmer feeling for Margate.
Margate Art also shows the paintings, and other original work, of guest artists.
