The Roundabout Festival

22 Sep 2016 - 25 Sep 2016

ROUNDABOUT IS THE WORLD’S FIRST POP-UP, PLUG-AND-PLAY THEATRE.

It flat packs into a lorry and comes to Margate 22-25 September....

The multi-award winning new play company Paines Plough have once again teamed up with Theatre Royal Margate to bring the thrills of the Edinburgh Fringe to Margate. Get ready for four days (22-25 September) of fun and frolics as the critically praised pop-up theatre experience, Roundabout, lands in Marine Gardens, Margate.

Returning for its third year, the stunning theatre in-the-round will be showcasing a variety of plays and activities – some even FREE - for all to enjoy, including three Paines Plough world premieres – ‘Love, Lies and Taxidermy’, ‘I Got Superpowers for my Birthday’ and Fringe smash hit ‘Growth’.

As well as Paines Plough’s stellar line-up of premiere fringe shows there’s Black Theatre Live’s Hamlet workshop, delivered by Annie Sutton. Rob Auton’s ‘The Sleep Show’ and Irish comedian Andrew Maxwell’s latest stand-up show.

Plus, festival goers will be treated to ‘Scratch-a-Round’ (25 Sep, 5pm) from the Looping the Loop Loopers and ‘B by the Sea’ (23 Sep, 4:30pm), a must see for all hip-hop fans, presented as part of the Margate Sightseeking Festival 2016.

Everywhere it pops up Roundabout brings a festival atmosphere, brand new plays, live music, comedy and anything else you could dream up. This year Roundabout will present Margate with three world premiere plays fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe.
