Church Tour

Guided tour of the historic, Grade I listed church.

St. Laurence is the oldest of the four churches which make up the Team Parish of St. Laurence- in–Thanet and can trace its history back to 1062.

When you walk through St. Laurence Churchyard, you walk in the footsteps of Elizabeth I, the Duke of Wellington, William IV, Queen Victoria and many well-known dignitaries.
Consecrated in 1275, the churchyard covers three and a half acres and contains over 1400 graves. As well as providing an insight into valuable social history, the churchyard is managed for the benefit of wildlife and is an oasis for flora and fauna.
The church is the oldest building in Thanet next to Minster Abbey.

Free - however a donation to church funds gratefully received
