Rutter ‘Requiem’ and ‘Psalmfest’
01 Apr 2017
John Rutter’s glorious Requiem, completed in 1985, is a setting of parts of the Latin requiem with added psalms in English. The work is traditional in its inspiration and is perhaps the most popular of Rutter’s longer sacred works, containing some wonderful, instantly memorable tunes and rich choral writing.
Psalmfest is a collection of individual anthem-style settings of psalms written over twenty years. From jaunty rhythms to reflective and lushly pastoral movements this collection of works will ensure the evening ends with ‘a merry noise’.
Tickets will be on sale from mid-February 2017.
