Margate Festival: Passing Phase

23 Sep 2016

Part of the Margate Festival

A large-scale installation performed across Dreamland’s Big Wheel.

It takes 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes and 46 seconds for the earth to circle our star, and 225 million years for the milky way to circle our galaxy. Empires rise and fall and rise again. Blood flows aorta to artery to aorta again.

Using phasing light and sound loops, .dash explore patterns in chaos, order in disorder, what is or what was and what will be. Starts at 19:30pm with performances repeated throughout the evening.

About the Artist- .dash are noisy and shambolic. They celebrate immediacy. They present ambitious, cutting edge performance, driven by a DIY attitude: yes, they’ll put a skate park in an abandoned building; yes, they’ll collaborate with scientists, noise artists and filmmakers; yes, they’ll stage a 32 second punk gig in the lift of the Turner Contemporary.
