Margate Arts Club becomes ‘The Art Hotel’ this September, with a month long programme of art, music and performance. Local and international artists come to Margate to stay in the Art Hotel and take us on a journey with them, creating an unfolding exhibition in the window space throughout the festival.

Pass by the Margate Arts Club from Monday – Saturday to see the installation transform.

You can also expect to find workshops, live art, performance, interaction, participation and good times, with an Art Party every Saturday designed by the artist in residence of the week.

Doors open at 7pm. Performances start from 8pm.

Saturday 3rd September:  Quiet Boy LIVE 8pm (Experimental, left-field pop ) / Howard Sway DJ set 9pm, ranging from experimental, esoteric electronic to down and dirty dance and disco. 7pm – 2am


5th-10th September: Reuben Sutherland will be installing in the window.  

Saturday 10th September: Artist Reuben Sutherland will be having the launch of his exhibition.

Sculpture LIVE 8pm – performing visuals, animation and sound made from old record turntables, analog tape. A very unusual and visually pleasing performance.

Fear of Fluffing LIVE – a mobile 4 piece that bring costumes, drums and electronic sounds LIVE 9.30pm



12th-17th September: Heidi Plant will be installing in the window.

15th -17th September:  Daily 12-6pm.  Please ring bell for entry. Loren Platt: A fully immersive visual/sound bath inspired by 2nd Chakral. The audience will be horizontal (on Margate inflatable lilos) and will experience sensory overload, visuals by Loren Platt will be accompanied by a soundscape by artist/musicians Duval Timothy, Klein, Jacob Samuel.   

Saturday 17th September: Athelstan Sound will be joining us with a performance by Graham Dunning’s Mechanical Techno LIVE 8pm

Loose Meat LIVE 4 piece avant dance synth project formed by Kristian Craig Robinson (Capitol K) & Arp (Archie Bronson Outfit). This is one not to be missed – put on your dancing shoes!

19th – 24th September: Tomas Jefanovas will be working and installing in the window.

22nd – 24th September: Alpha Untitled, audio-visual installation by Tomas Jefanovas. Please ring bell for entry. 12-6pm.

Saturday 24th September: Live audio-visual performance by Tomas Jefanovas and Tasos Stamou LIVE 8pm

Music selections by Fumio (Comadisco) and Tomas Jef 7pm-2am opening party (electronic disco to make you move your ass!)
