A Feast for the Eyes

27 Sep 2016 - 09 Oct 2016

'Its not just the local restaurants and pubs who will be celebrating the Food Festival with visitors this month. New Kent Art Gallery in Broadstairs is holding a special exhibition of paintings, sculpture, photography and ceramics with food and cafe culture as their theme.

Visitors to the festival will be able to sample a multitude of foods and then pop down to the gallery and sample art that will feature produce or items that we associate with food and cooking. Local artists from across Thanet and Kent have brought their work together including ceramic teapots and cruet sets by Russian Artist Lana Arkhi, prints by Hugh Ribbans, watercolours by Hannah Clark, paintings by Angela Malone, Brian Homewood, Karen Hiscock-Lawrence, Angela Carpenter, Andrew Robertson and David Mitchell, mosaic sculpture by Mollie Cheek and Kate Baker and photography by Anne-Marie Rymill. All work will be for sale and ready to take away as a reminder of their time at the Food Festival.

The exhibition 'A Feast for your Eyes' opens on Tuesday 27th September and continues right through till Sun 9th Oct. Gallery open Tues-Sat 10am-5pm and Sunday 11am-4pm.
