Selector Dub Narcotic (Calvin Johnson) & Catenary Wires

26 Oct 2016

We are delighted to welcome Selector Dub Narcotic (Calvin Johnson) & Catenary Wires (Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey of Heavenly / Talulah Gosh) to the Tom Thumb.

Selector Dub Narcotic is the current moniker of the inimitable Calvin Johnson (Beat Happening / K Records). Based in Olympia, Wash., Calvin Johnson’s is an iconic and celebrated force in underground culture: a guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, music producer, disc jockey, zine-maker. Founding member of Cool Rays, Beat Happening and The Go Team. Founder and owner of K Records (Beck, Bikini Kill, Modest Mouse). In short, a major player in the emergence of the DIY scene.

He will be joined by the wonderful Catenary Wires, aka Amelia Fletcher and Rob Pursey, protagonists of some of the best indie-pop songs in the last 30 years. From Talulah Gosh to Tender Trap, via Heavenly and Marine Research, the duo make gorgeous  pop, buoyed by swooning melodies and steered by whip-smart words.

This is an all ages show.
