Gerald Dickens - Sikes and Nancy + The Signal Man
19 Oct 2016
Charles Dickens was a master of the theatre and loved nothing more than performing his own works. These shows were far more than literary readings and his talents as an actor ensured that halls across the land were filled to capacity.
Now his great great grandson Gerald brings two of the most dramatic readings back to the stage.
‘Sikes and Nancy’ was so brutal that Charles judged the success of a performance purely by counting the number of audience members who fainted.
‘The Signalman’ is a chilling ghost story in which Dickens faced his own demons.
