Cyanotype Making Workshops
24 Oct 2016 - 25 Oct 2016
Learn how to create your own cyanotype photogram with The Darkroom Project using objects from everyday life in this family workshop for children and adults.
Workshops will provide an introduction to the earliest and simplest form of photography; printing in the sun, with UV light, using natural materials to make blue and white photographs – called cyanotypes - without the need for a camera.
This early type of photography was invented in the mid 1800’s and used by the first female photographer, Anna Atkins, to produce the first photographically illustrated book in 1843.
The two hour workshops will take place at Resort Studios, 50 Athelstan Road, Cliftonville, Margate and are delivered by The Darkroom Project. The workshops are suitable for children ages 5+ and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
