NOW FULLY BOOKED
Meet in the car park behind The Minnis Restaurant
Join expert birder, Tony Swandale, at Minnis Bay from 10am-12pm on Friday 13th January 2017 for a beginners guide to exploring the birdlife along the Thanet Coast.
This walk is specifically aimed at beginners to birdwatching, but open to all. Over the two hours we will look at the different bird species that can be found along our coastline and how to identify them. There will be advice for beginners to birdwatching on how to get the best out of birdwatching along the coast, as well as advice on optical equipment and field guides.
Public car parking and toilet facilities are available at Minnis Bay. The walking route along the coast path is level with a hard surface. The event will involve a moderate amount of walking (up to two miles) at a slow pace with frequent stops to observe the birdlife.
Please bring along binoculars if you have them. Several pairs of binoculars will be available to borrow for the walk on a first come, first served basis. Please come prepared for winter weather: wear warm and waterproof clothing. Do check the weather forecast in advance of the event and be prepared for the weather to change.
This event is not suitable for children under the age of 12. Dogs are not allowed.
