Skagate Weekend

30 Jun 2017 - 02 Jul 2017

Skagate returns for another helping of original 1960's Jamaican Ska, Reggae and RnB.

This year we are pleased to present one of the pioneers of that original sound, for the first time ever in the UK,
THE CLARENDONIANS Formed in 1963, originally as a duo of Fitroy 'Ernest' Wilson and Peter Austin, The Clarendonians came to the attention of STUDIO ONE boss and producer Clement Dodd.
Through Dodd they recorded a series of songs that became big Jamaican hits, which helped to define the 'Rube Boy' era of Ska alongside another young vocal group THE WAILERS. Dodd later expanded the group to become a trio
with the addition of a seven year old FREDDIE McGREGOR. It is the original duo that we welcome to this year's Skagate.

Full weekend tickets are £30
Day tickets £15

The Clarendonians perform Saturday 1st July.

The weekend is supported by local DJ's Lee & Toast aka
