Winter Open Art Exhibition

13 Dec 2017 - 10 Jan 2018

Taking place at The Gallery within Nice Things

The gallery is launching its first ever open exhibition, a celebration of the new space, with a Winter Open Art exhibition.

The event opens on Wednesday 13 December with a wide collection of work from Thanet-based artists, showing a mix of paint, print, textiles and ceramics. The exhibition runs to 10 January and is open seven days a week, except between Christmas and New Year.

After looking through many great submissions, the artists selected are: Andrea Chappell; Andrew Robertson; Carol Lewis; Carole Sumray; Cathy Harvey; David Harvey; David Ridgway; Jan Gibbons; Janie Grout; Jennifer Welsford; John Bloomfield; Julian Lovegrove; Katrina Dallamore; Kylie Cederbad; Lesley Gray; Linda Trim; Liz McAuley; Makiko Downton; Margaret Foreman; Marian Padina; Martin Cheek; Mel Chennell; Mike Trim; Patricia Bentley; Robert Marsh; Sarah Stokes; Sharon Hendy; Stacey Chapman; Susie Darnton; Vic Woods; Vicki Salmi and Wendy Jones. In the spirit of encouragement for enterprise, young artists who came forward and asked if they could be included will also be shown – well done to Alexandra McFarlane and Rory Sears.

All artists are invited along with the public to a Meet The Artist Evening on Friday 15 December from 6 – 9pm. The gallery will be getting into the spirit of the season with mulled wine and mince pies all day on Friday 15th, to welcome visitors and enjoy the exhibition.
