Thanet Birdwatching: Autumn Migration

20 Oct 2017

Join expert local birder birder Tony Swandale on a short walk to discover the varied birdlife of the Thanet Coast. Improve your birdwatching skills and learn how to identify coastal species such as curlew, fulmar, oystercatcher, turnstone and gannet. Suitable for beginners and novices. Adults and children over 12.

Binoculars available to borrow free of charge. Advice on optical equipment and field guides. Helpful handouts with written information will be provided on the day.

Joss Bay is an accessible beach and the cliff top path at North Foreland is level and firm to walk on. It provides an excellent view of this section of coast and a convenient vantage point from which to observe birds. At this time of year there is a good chance of finding an interesting migrant or two. This event is one of a series of similar birdwatching events taking place around the Thanet coast. Other venues include Minnis Bay, Ramsgate Harbour and Pegwell Bay.
