Fragments of the Wasteland and Works by Salty Squid Ink
10 Feb 2018 - 18 Feb 2018
Fragments of the Wasteland
Photographer Eleanor Marriott presents a photographic journey, from London to India and ultimately resting at the shelter on Margate sands. Her images explore themes inherent in The Waste Land – from holiness, to desolation and fragmentation; and of water symbolising both life and death.
Works by Salty Squid Ink.
Concurrently, Eleanor will be showcasing commercial photographic work from her portfolio, which includes portraiture; stills for films and documentaries; and travel commissions.
Eleanor’s work will be shown alongside graphic design by Tony Tooke, which includes artwork for several well known Margate venues – from the Harbour Arms to the Ministry of Pies. Tony will also be showcasing some of his digital animations.
Eleanor, who is also a trained journalist and PR consultant, and Tony, who is also a multi-instrumentalist, music producer, DJ and VJ, will be showcasing their work to launch their digital media and communications company Salty Squid Ink.
Private View & Launch of Salty Squid Ink
The Wastelands private view and official launch of Salty Squid Ink. will take place on Saturday 11 February from 6-9pm. It will include a live loop performance by Tony Tooke using traditional Indian instruments.
