Nothing from Nothing
21 Apr 2018 - 22 Apr 2018
Saturday 21 April 6-9pm – Presentation and discussion
Sunday 22 April 12-4pm – Space open with outcomes from the residency
Inspired by the extensive revisions, suggestions and edits made by Ezra Pound to T.S. Eliot’s manuscript of The Waste Land, this fleeting, collaborative residency in Margate will examine editing as a creative process. Ten professional artists will come together in Margate, the area where Eliot himself found inspiration for the seminal poem. Working in pairs, the artists will take a section of The Waste Land as a starting point, and over two days respond through collaborative practice. Their process and outcomes will be shared with the public at Limbo on the evening of Saturday 21st April with the artists deciding on the style of this presentation. This will be followed by a hosted open format discussion for the public and invited guests - addressing the responses of the artists to The Waste Land, creative collaboration, and the arts in Margate. Documentation from the residency will be on display at Limbo on Sunday 22nd April.
