A festival of activities celebrating Augustine of Canterbury who landed near Ramsgate in 597, and became the first Archbishop of Canterbury.

Friday 25th May
*7pm Vigil Mass for the Feast of St Augustine (EF Latin) with music from The Victoria Consort

Saturday 26th May
*11am Procession of the Relic of St Augustine
*12pm St Augustine’s Week Patronal Festival Mass with music from The Victoria Consort
*5pm Vespers and Solemn Benediction 

Sunday 27th May
*2.30pm Meet at the Pegwell Bay Viking Ship for the Procession to the Augustine Cross and the Augustine Sermon preached by Fr Simon Heans followed by Tea at Minster Abbey

Monday 28th May
*2.30pm The Blessing of the Sea
*7.30pm The St Augustine Concert (£10 – tickets at the door)

Tuesday 29th May
*7.30pm Poetry Event with Sarah de Nordwall, acclaimed Catholic poet, lecturer and founder of the Bard School

Wednesday 30th May
*7.30pm Lecture: ‘The Mass of St Augustine and the Mass Today’ (Fr John Hunwicke, classical scholar, liturgist and popular Catholic Blogger). Entry - £3 at the door.

Thursday 31st May
*11am -2.30pm St Augustine and Pugin Boat Trip visiting sites connected with St Augustine and Pugin with commentary and reading of relevant texts. Cost £19 per person. Places are limited so early booking is essential. Meet at the Maritime Museum at 10.30am.
*7.30pm The HLF Lecture: ‘St Augustine and the Queens of Kent’ (Dr Eleanor Parker, Oxford University). Entry free on presentation of a valid Lottery Ticket

Friday 1st June
*Augustine Camino Coach Tour (pickup at St Ethelbert’s 9am and 9.10am). Visit Rochester, Aylesford, St Dunstan’s, Canterbury and other interesting places

Saturday 2nd June
*2pm – 4pm Children and Family Event: ‘Arts and Crafts at St Augustine’s’ with Julie Rydz
*7.30pm The Augustine Lecture: ‘Picturing St Augustine: the Art Inspired by the Gregorian Mission.’ Entry free

Sunday 3rd June
*3pm Corpus Christi Procession followed by refreshments at the Divine Retreat Centre

The Shrine is open each day 10am to 4pm. Guided tours at 3pm
