Discover Thanet's Coast
The riches of our coast and heritage have always been deeply intertwined, with golden beaches, bays and big skies enticing invaders and saints, writers and artists, birds and wonderful marine wildlife – not to mention being a natural theatre for adventure.
Discover Thanet's Coast, is a Coastal Community Fund sponsored project, encouraging visitors to explore more widely the special links between coast, culture and history around the area, through beach and town activities. With lots of events and things to do, there’s all the more reason to stay longer too.
Putting a twist on seaside experiences, enjoy sporting pursuits like boxercise or yoga on the beach, create art inspired by our open spaces, or join bird walks with experts to uncover the unique habitat of our chalk grasslands. Science, nature and art come alive together in our events.
Look out (towards the end of summer) for activity packs to boost fun and learning for all the family, linking coastal and heritage sites, they will set you on a fascinating trail of discovery.
So why not explore more widely and stay longer, making the most of Discover Thanet's Coast diverse programme of experiences.
