Christmas performance from the Thanet Festival Choir with Soloists & Orchestra at Holy Trinity Church, Broadstairs.
Start time: 7:30pm
We can’t think of a better way of celebrating Christmas than by performing Part One, sometimes called ‘the Christmas Portion’, of Handel’s wonderful Messiah.
The work begins with the prophecy of the Messiah and His virgin birth by the prophet Isaiah. His birth is also described in words by Isaiah, followed by the annunciation to the shepherds, followed by reflections on the Messiah’s deeds. As has become traditional with ‘Christmas’ Messiah performances, we’ll conclude with ‘Hallellujah’ from Part Two.
Our soloists will be Ching-Kwan (Nicole) Ng (Soprano), Luke Phillips (Tenor) and Orlando Barton-Hodges (Baritione) and we will be accompanied by the Thanet Festival Orchestra.
All seating is unreserved.
There is on-street parking available in Crow Hill, Rectory Road and Eastern Esplanade, and pay-and-display parking in the Albion Street car park opposite the Church. Albion Street car park has several disabled parking spaces.
Wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase after the concert.
£16 for Adults, £14 for Friends of Thanet Festival Choir, and £2 for Children plus 50p booking fee. They are available from Choir members, from our Ticket Secretary on 01304 620560, or online
