Heritage Open Days: Theatre Royal

EXPLORE BEHIND THE SCENES
Dating back to 1787 and remodelled by the Victorians, the Theatre Royal is proud to be the 2nd oldest working theatre in the UK, described by the Theatres Trust as “of major significance” and a Grade ll* listed building. As part of the nationwide Heritage Open Days scheme, the Theatre Royal is opening its doors FREE of charge for the day. Come along and sit in the Royal Box, go mermaid spotting, check out the view from the Gods and soak up the historic atmosphere.

The theatre will be open all day FREE of charge (Theatre Open to the Public: 10am to 4pm), but if you’d like to explore backstage as well, why not join one of our guided backstage tours?

Backstage tours for small groups, guided by our technical staff will run as per the schedule below – Booking advised.
