Talk 6.30pm-7.30pm with pre-booking required via Tunnels website
Join Ramsgate Tunnels for an informative and well researched talk on evacuees during World War II.
Speaker Helen Seaton, one of Ramsgate Tunnels long standing volunteers, has collected hours of oral history in order to tell personal stories from child evacuees, including from Ramsgate Tunnels very own 'Tunnel Rats'. From Thanet to Staffordshire and further abroad, learn more about what these children went through; separation, good homes, some not so great homes and the emotions invoked leaving family behind.
Come along and enjoy this free talk within the main Victorian Railway Tunnel
Please note: the temperature in Ramsgate Tunnels is on average approx. 9-11 degrees despite the temperature outside and so please dress appropriately.
