Take a tour of Radford House to see the building and hear about plans for the future
Open 10am-4pm with tours at 11am and 3pm
Radford House was built as a country house for the nobility and owned all the land to Elms Avenue and Guildford Lawn, which formed gardens with a fountain and summer house.
As Ramsgate town grew, the lands were sold and at the end of the 19th century the building was given to the Ramsgate Corporation. It became the town's first official fire station, which remained in use, becoming the oldest fire station in England, until the fire brigade moved out in 2018.
The building was bought by Ramsgate Town Council to be renovated as a community asset, becoming a space to welcome and support Ramsgate's community.
Renovations are planned and expected to begin early in 2025, with the building currently open for events and room hires.
During the Open Days you will be able to see the building and hear about the plans for the future, contribute your ideas and discover some of its hidden history.
Refreshments available all day.
