The historic Spencer Square in Ramsgate will be celebrating its connections with Van Gogh who lived her for a time.
11am - 6pm
Visitors will also get a chance to enjoy a free tennis taster session and watch a competitive match on the tennis courts located in the square.
Spencer Square is run by a group of local volunteers, Friends of Spencer Square (FOSS).
In honour of Vincent Van Gogh (who lived here for a time in 1876) there will be an exhibition of work by local artists. After admiring the artwork, you can enjoy a cuppa and delicious cake in Vincent’s Café.
There will be a free tennis taster in the adjacent courts, plus you can watch a competitive tennis match between local champions.
The afternoon is aimed at raising awareness of Spencer Square and its facilities promoting health and wellbeing in the local community. The physical and mental health benefits include the opportunity for all ages to play tennis on the courts and for volunteers in become active in the gardening group that meets at least once a week tending to the plants and hedges.
Tennis taster sessions will run from 11am
Tennis Tournament will be held at 1pm
