Power Of Children
8th January 2020
Open 10.30am - 5.30pm
Throughout the autumn/winter term Creative Voices practitioners will be working with students in three local primary schools (Cliftonville, Drapers Mills and Ramsgate Arts Primary), creating performance art pieces that explore the Power Of Children.
Looking at the iconic work of Greta Thunberg the students will be responding by discovering their individual passion for change and creating dance theatre pieces that capture their creative voice. Linking the students responses to the work of the four Turner Prize finalists in order to stimulate ideas and demonstrate their power to evoke conversation and change.
On the morning of the event day we will invite visitors to join our family workshops that will be based on the same ideas explored in the schools. Through creative and playful dance theatre activities the participants will discover the Power Of Children and will then be invited to stay for the afternoon performance.
During the afternoon we will be bringing the three primary schools together to share their performance pieces with family, friends, school staff, workshop participants and visitors of the gallery. Our work strives to connect communities through shared and unforgettable performance experiences with children, young people and families; Power Of Children promotes this legacy and supports our aim to build relationships and connections through arts and culture in Thanet.
