Set In Broadstairs - Party Night

Set in Broadstairs! - The annual BroadstairsLit party night from 7.30pm

Broadstairs has been the inspiration behind many a fine literary work. Charles Dickens famously wrote part of David Copperfield when staying in Bleak House; John Buchan found the title of what is often hailed as the first modern spy thriller – at the “39 steps” down to Stone Bay. And bestselling novelist Lisa Jewell set her novel The truth about Melody Browne (Arrow) in our picturesque seaside town.
Local author and regular BroadstairsLit host, Jane Wenham-Jones has set two of her previous novels – One Glass is Never Enough and Prime Time here, where she grew up, and has returned to her hometown for the setting for her sixth novel The Big Five O which will be published by Harper Collins next summer.
Party night will celebrate the launch of the paperback of The Big Five O with special guests who have been inspired by beautiful Broadstairs.
There will also be live music, Local poet, Maggie Harris will perform some of her poems and the opportunity to buy a signed book, includes a charity raffle and auction.
