From Saturday 23rd to Sunday 31st October open Tuesday – Sunday 10am – 5pm (last entry 4pm) and from Monday 1st November 2021 to Sunday 3rd April 2022 Wednesday to Sunday 10am-5pm (last entry 4pm)
To mark Turner Contemporary's 10th anniversary and ten years on from their first Open, this open submission exhibition will celebrate and showcase the wealth of artistic talent living, working and training in Kent.
Selected and curated by four Margate-based community groups, who volunteered over a number of months with the support of Turner Contemporary’s exhibitions team, the show will span all of the galleries and Clore Learning Studio.
The exhibition will include approximately 450 works, selected from over 4,200 anonymised submissions received from nearly 1,400 artists.
Artworks include sculpture, painting, ceramics, film and photography, work by internationally renowned artists such as Tracey Emin, Rose Wylie and Margo Selby, alongside up-and-coming artists such as Matilda Sutton, Joshua Atkins and Lisa Wright.
The works have been selected by four Thanet-based community groups and collectives: Age UK Thanet, Canvas 4 Equality, Margate Pride and the Turner Contemporary Access Group.
