WayFinder: Larry Achiampong

Until 3rd April 2022 gallery open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am-5pm

In 2022 Turner Contemporary will stage the largest solo exhibition to date by British Ghanaian artist Larry Achiampong, including an ambitious new film and sculptural installation ‘Journey Home’, alongside a group of Turner paintings.

Through this exhibition and film commission, and the selection of Turner’s works, Achiampong will explore issues of race and belonging; empire and colonial history; African diasporic identities and experiences which have been suppressed and marginalised in the UK.

The exhibition will open at Turner Contemporary before touring to BALTIC, Gateshead and MK Gallery, Milton Keynes, who Turner Contemporary is working with to co-commission Journey Home.
