1st Saturday of Month. Church open 10am-12pm with Talk at 10.30am

Dr Dawn Crouch and guest speakers will make a short talk at 10.30am on aspect of the history of Westgate and Westbrook

 

From May until the end of August the Heritage Centre is open every Saturday 10am to 12 noon and every Wednesday 11am to 1pm. Talks are given on the first Saturday of each month at 10.30am

*2nd May - Illustrated Talk by Sally Whitworth and Colin Osborne “Westgate summer sporting activities - the story of the Tennis and Cricket Clubs”

*6th June - “Westgate in the Second World War We Have a Story to Tell”. The 80th anniversary of June 1940 when the Thanet children were evacuated to Staffordshire after the Fall of Dunkirk, based on stories collected from evacuees. Script written by Dr Dawn Crouch and read by Heritage Centre members

*4th July - to be announced 

*1st August - to be announced

*5th September - “Westgate in the Second World War We Have a Story to Tell”. The 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain based on stories collected from those who remained after the evacuation of much of the civilian population in July 1940. Script written by Dr Dawn Crouch and read by Heritage Centre members
