Visit Kent’s Big Weekend is back for 2019 with thousands of FREE tickets up for grabs too many popular attractions and hidden gems over the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April

The chance to apply for tickets is open to Kent residents from Thursday 21st February until Sunday 17th March and you will hear shortly after if you have been successful. For full terms and conditions visit www.kentbigweekend.co.uk


  • Drapers Windmill (Saturday & Sunday)- 19th Century Smock windmill restored in 1970s
  • Dreamland (Saturday & Sunday) - the UK’s original pleasure park that’ll give guests fun, food, thrills and good times
  • Hornby Visitor Centre (Saturday & Sunday)- see and interact with Britain’s best loved toys; Hornby, Airfix, Corgi and Scalextric
  • Margate Museum (Saturday & Sunday) - discover Margate: island, sea-bathing machines, paddle-steamers, shipwrecks and day-trippers in the old police station
  • Shell Grotto (Saturday & Sunday) - Kent’s greatest mystery. Discovered in 1835, this subterranean wonder is decorated with 4.6 million shells
  • Theatre Royal (Saturday) - Grade II* listed theatre dating back to 1787 offering a busy and varied programme
  • Tudor House (Saturday & Sunday) - thought to be one of the oldest of its kind in Kent, built around 1525. A rare example of a Tudor transitional house

  • Crampton Tower Museum (Saturday & Sunday) - museum dedicated to Thomas Crampton, celebrating buses, trams and railwayana
  • Dickens House Museum (Saturday) - explore Charles Dickens relationship with Broadstairs through his letters and personal items in the home that was the inspiration for Betsey Trotwood in David Copperfield
  • Ramsgate Brewery (Saturday) - the Gadds, modern brewers of East Kent, create fresh, local ale at their Ramsgate Brewery, selling in cask and bottle to licensed outlets in the area
  • Westwood Cross (Saturday & Sunday) - with more than 50 stores, restaurants and entertainment venues, Westwood Cross has plenty going on day and night  


  • Open Top Bus (Weekends Saturday 6th April to Sunday 28th April) - service between Ramsgate and Broadstairs taking in Ramsgate Royal Harbour and cliff top views of the coastline
  • Pugin’s Church and Shrine of St Augustine (Saturday & Sunday) - the personal church and burial place of the famous architect Augustus Pugin. It is also the Shrine of St Augustine of England
  • Ramsgate Blitz Walks (Sunday) - reliving the dark days of Ramsgate during WWII
  • Ramsgate Leisure Centre (Saturday) - sports centre with swimming pool, gym, fitness classes and spa
  • Ramsgate Tunnels (Saturday & Sunday) - two miles of bomb-proof, deep shelter tunnels built to protect civilians during WWII
  • Real Life Games (Valid until 30th April 2019) - immersive, themed games rooms for the detective/hero in everyone, offering a thriller movie or treasure hunt
  • Rotten Ramsgate Walk (Saturday) - a guided walking tour based on six of the historical murders that took place in Ramsgate between 1859 and 1930


  • Jungle Jims (Saturday & Sunday) - fantastic indoor and outdoor play area for children aged 1-11 years
  • Minster Abbey (Saturday) - Founded in 670 AD by Princess Ermenburga. One of England’s oldest religious buildings, currently occupied by Benedictine nuns
  • Powell-Cotton Museum (Saturday & Sunday) - fine regency country house with a stunning world-class private museum filled with objects and animals from Africa and Asia
  • RAF Manston History Museum (Saturday) - museum based on the history of the airfield from 1916 to present day, including aircraft and artefacts from WWI
