Meet opposite The Chapel Bar and Bookshop, 44/46 Albion Street at 10am. Tour duration approx. 2 hours
Join a knowledgeable and experienced Guide for this fascinating Walking Tour of Broadstairs...
From Charles Dickens, the Vikings, and the Battle of Waterloo through to Queen Victoria, Dua Lipa and the Soup Dragon, the beautiful coastal town of Broadstairs is a treasure trove of over 1,500 years of remarkable stories and magical locations, just waiting to be discovered.
As Broadstairs is so closely linked with Charles Dickens, the Tour will include many spots closely associated with Dickens, including Bleak House (where the author wrote David Copperfield), the Royal Albion Hotel (where he wrote part of Nicholas Nickleby), and Dickens House Museum (where he met the inspiration for one of his most famous characters, Betsy Trotwood).
Other highlights include the majestic vista of Viking Bay, and the town's connections to the Viking invasions, the Battle of Waterloo, Queen Victoria, the BBC, Dua Lipa, the Kent coast's famous smugglers, and many daring rescues at sea...
Suitable for all age groups and mobilities, including wheelchair access.
There are no steps involved, but there are two short, but fairly steep, slopes.
