The excellent transport links to Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate make it an easy place to get to. This area is not only served by the country’s only high-speed rail service, meaning connections from London are relaxingly short, but also by very good road links between our towns and villages..

For overseas visitors, sea crossings from mainland Europe to Dover are an ideal way to travel, as Dover itself is only 20 miles (32km) from our coast. Our towns and villages are connected by excellent train and bus services, so there are very good reasons for leaving the car behind!

Once you’re here, you’ll find our bus services ideal for exploring the whole area, as the main Loop bus route runs as often as every seven minutes. If you like travelling by train, you'll find high-speed connections to London, as well as local lines linking all three Thanet towns and villages, to nearby Kent towns such as Dover, Canterbury, Whitstable, and beyond.
