Plan Your visit
Travelling to Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate for a seaside escape is straightforward and trouble-free, no matter which mode of transport you choose. The region has excellent road and rail links from London. Train journeys are especially comfortable, as the area is served by the country’s only high-speed rail line, meaning that connections for London can be as rapid as 1 hour and 16 minutes.
• M25 links to M26, M20, M2 then A299 into Thanet
•16 miles (26km) from Canterbury
•20 miles (32km) from Dover.
• St. Pancras International Station, London to Ramsgate – 80 minutes
• Ferry services into Dover (approx 20 miles/32 km from Ramsgate)
• Eurotunnel into Folkestone (approx 30 miles/42 km from Ramsgate)
We can also recommend a wide range of quality graded seaside accommodation options to suit the needs of every visitor from single travellers to large groups.
While you’re here, it is easy to use one of three beautiful towns as a base to explore other areas, as the local buses run as often as every 7 minutes, and all three towns are on the same rail line.
If you do happen to need a bit of guidance before, or during your trip, the Visitor Information Centre will certainly provide you with all the help you need.
