The UK is turning up the volume, and the sound is coming straight from the Kent coast! Ramsgate’s very own Sam Battle, performing as Look Mum No Computer, is representing the United Kingdom at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna with his track ‘Eins, Zwei, Drei.’
Known for his eccentric genius and ‘backyard engineer’ spirit, Sam is bringing a slice of Thanet’s creative magic to the international stage.
Visit the Birthplace of the ‘Furby Organ’
While Sam is busy preparing for the final in Vienna on Saturday 16 May, you can explore the place where his wild inventions come to life.
Located in the heart of Ramsgate, Sam founded ‘This Museum Is (NOT) Obsolete.’ Far from your typical quiet gallery, this is an interactive playground of experimental and obsolete technology. The museum houses the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest ‘drone synth’ (it has 1,000 oscillators!). It’s a literal record-breaking reason to visit the town!
Expect walls of clicking synthesizers, hackable electronics, and scientific curiosities. Visitors are encouraged to push buttons, make noise, and discover the creative side of sound.

Inspired by the Isle
Sam has long championed the unique, slightly ‘off-beat’ charm of Ramsgate. His journey from building his evolving, eccentric museum in the town, to flying the flag for the UK shows the Isle is truly a creative and inspiring place. But Sam isn't the only one keeping retro tech alive on Church Hill! His museum sits just a stone's throw from the legendary Micro Museum, creating a unique corner of Ramsgate where the past and the future of technology collide.
Why Sam loves Ramsgate (and you will too!)
Sam often highlights the ‘wonderful and wild journey’ of being an independent creator here. The town’s mix of maritime history and modern art makes it the perfect lab for inventors. "Where else can you see a computerised ‘Teletuby Mexican Wave’ (yes-really!) just a stone’s throw from the town's grand Regency seafront? It’s this mix of eccentric innovation and historic charm that proves Ramsgate really has it all!
