Inspirational clay tiles made by people across the Isle of Thanet since March 2023.
Tiles of Joy will be displayed at the Powell-Cotton Museum for March 2024, before moving to a permanent home.
Jayne Wright began this community art project with POW Thanet in March 2023.
More than 1000 Tiles of Joy have now been made by the people of Thanet.
The first workshops were with Margate WI and Margate Caves. Many groups and organisations have now taken part including: Margate Pride; Margate Arts Club; Turner Contemporary Staff; Ramsgreat Happy Mondays; Cliftonville Arts Centre ARK; Garlinge WI; Wilderness to Wonderland; Dreamland Heritage Trust; Monkton Nature Reserve; Phoenix Garden Project; Salty Synchro; Kent Blind; Garlinge Scouts, Beavers and Squirrels; Birchington Girl Guides; Small Haven School; Foreland Fields School and Cliftonville Primary School.
So far, the tiles have been on display at Shop Front Gallery, Margate Caves and Arts In Ramsgate.
See Instagram @Thanet.tiles.of.joy for workshops to make a tile to add to the collection.
