The UK’s signature soul music festival takes over Margate each August!
Now in its 22nd year, Margate Soul Festival is making a comeback with a brand new location from Friday 2nd August to Sunday 4th August!
Taking place annually on the first weekend of August, Margate Soul Festival provides a unique combination of large-scale live shows, DJ-led carnival street parties, beachside programming and an eclectic mix of night-time club life. Performers will include DJs, international live acts and some of the biggest names in British Soul.
Philadelphia’s Dexter Wansel and homegrown rising talent Izo Fitzroy are the first Sunset Stage acts to be revealed for this year's festival, plus an exciting first wave DJ line up which includes Brandon Block, Booker T and Derrick Patterson - See here for full list of DJs
Margate Soul Festival’s Sunset Stage will move to Newgate Lower Promenade beneath the iconic Lido sign, it is a location historically used for entertainment and escape.
Newgate Lower Promenade will act as one of the main locations for the festival, hosting a range of incredible headliners such as Harold Melvin’s Blue Notes and Heatwave, plus locally sourced food and drink outlets as well as making space for community groups and activities that raise awareness about the environment.
Given the special and isolated nature of the site, Margate Soul Fest will be debuting an innovative range of sustainable initiatives that will be introduced, from reusable cups to hybrid generators and lots more to be announced in 2024. Ticket holders can also choose to add a bike rental to their booking via Margate’s social enterprise, The Bike Shed, to navigate a car-free path to the festival or pick up the free soul train which will be operating across the festival.
Weekend tickets are £108.90 (£99 + 10% booking fee) / Day tickets are £60.50 (£55 + 10% BF) / Kids tickets (7-17) are £38.50 (£35 + 10% BF)
