The Van Morrison Alumni Band celebrates one of the greatest albums of all time.
Back in February 1970, aged just 24, Van Morrison released Moondance, a record that would define an era and cement his place in music history. A seamless blend of jazz, soul, blues and R&B, it gave us some of the most enduring songs ever written: Into the Mystic, Crazy Love, And It Stoned Me, Caravan and that unforgettable title track.
Now, over half a century later, The Van Morrison Alumni Band is bringing this landmark record back, live on stage. Featuring musicians who have performed and recorded alongside Morrison himself, the band will play all ten tracks in their original running order, along with the songs Van Morrison recorded for the album but held back, only for them to become hits several years later.
Witness The Van Morrison Alumni Band capture the passion and spontaneity that made the album legendary, as Leo Green delves into the making of Moondance through some extraordinary stories. Then enjoy a second half packed with Van Morrison’s most loved hits, as Leo shares insight into the songs, along with first-hand recollections of life on the road and in the studio with one of the greatest songwriters of our time.
More than an album tribute, this is an incredible journey inside the music, told and performed by musicians who know Van Morrison’s world from the inside.
