Waste Will Save US returns to the Windmill Community Gardens for a kids Upcycling after school session
3.30pm - 5pm
At this workshop, you'll be rethinking waste and transforming old items into new by repurposing what we already have. Breathing new life into old clothes & accessories that would otherwise end up in landfill.
BYO shoes- Have a pair of trainers or shoes that you no longer wear or that need a refresh? Come join us for a paint and rework session.
We will provide the materials you bring the shoes. Please make sure to bring shoes that you can still wear for you to refresh and update. (Holes can be covered with patches but we can’t help you with resoling.)
Materials provided include fabrics and paints from the WWSU archive - Fabric swatches & trims, waste trash materials, natural pigment & food waste paints, waterbased paints, fabric pens, stencils, needles and embroidery threads will also be provided.
Printing using a variety of different methods - stencils also included.
This event is perfect for anyone looking to unleash their creativity, merging DIY customisation & nature for a relaxing after school activity.
To further boost your creativity and in keeping with the ritual ethos of the brand we will immerse your senses in scent and sound.
Moroccan mint tea will be served with Mint picked from the gardens / Music will be played
Age 4 - 12 / Kids must be accompanied by an adult
