From traditional pantomimes and music concerts to the latest movies
The range of cinemas enables you to choose your experience. Whether you want to see the latest 3D blockbuster or see an art film in a quiet, independent cinema, there is an option to suit everyone.
Westgate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate each have independent and intimate cinemas, whilst there is a large multiplex located at Westwood Cross Shopping Centre.
• Carlton Cinema - original cinema with 3 screens
• Palace Cinema - unique cinema with 111 seats
• Granville Cinema - varied programme of film releases
• Vue Cinema - multiplex 10 screen cinema
Theatres offer not only a great range of quality entertainment- they also have a story to tell.
Margate is not home to one but three theatres each with their own story – Theatre Royal; grade II* listed dating back to 1787, the country’s second oldest, Tom Thumb Theatre; one of the smallest, a converted Victorian coach house with only 50 seats and the prestigious Winter Gardens; over 100 years old and has played host to many famous entertainers, big band names and comedians. The Beatles performed here for six consecutive nights.
With the only Summer Rep season in Kent and patrons Dame Judi Dench, David Suchet CBE and Julian Fellowes DL, the Sarah Thorne Theatre presents plays, music and theatre performances by local and national groups.
The local theatres provide a diverse range of productions, from local amateur productions to national and international tours as well as popular music concerts
