Oliver Postgate was an English animator, puppeteer, and writer, famous for creating and writing some of Britain's most popular children's television programmes - Bagpuss, Noggin the Nog, Ivor the Engine and Clangers.
The plaque was made by local mosaic artist Martin Cheek.
