 
        Officially called Augusta Steps, the 120 brightly coloured steps link East Cliff Promenade to the area by Ramsgate Tunnels below. The original Augusta Steps were built in the 1850s and after collapsing in 1947 were later replaced by the current steps in the 1950s/60s,
The ‘Rainbow Steps’, as now known, were created by Ramsgate Town Team, 30 volunteers, and local children in 2014. The steps were repainted and more artwork by local school children was added in 2018.
