Ramsgate interactive museum celebrating experimental and obsolete electronic technology, scientific, telecommunication and musical technology
This Museum Is (Not) Obsolete was launched in 2020 by Sam Battle AKA Look Mum No Computer.
Sam is a Musician / Inventor and is the driving force behind the museums mission to keep the ‘obsolete’ alive and evolving for all to experience.
Various interactive displays and educational material on the history of experimental, scientific and DIY electronics.
History of obsolete lab equipment, telephony, toys, sound, vision and much more
The also museum houses the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest ‘drone synth’ with 1,000 oscillators!
Good for all ages
*NEW* Synth Club - a monthly get together for electronic music nerds to get together and show off their own tech or play with the museum’s collection of rare and vintage machines. The first event will take place on Wednesday, May 27 2026 and then every last Wednesday of the month. (£5 entry)
Midweek Bookings
The Museum can also be open mid-week. Please check beforehand, and check the calendar for Open Days!
Please also get in touch to arrange private recordings or midweek visits.
Midweek recording sessions start at £120 for 2-hour sessions, plus £40 per hour on top.
Group and School visits can be arranged. Groups of up to 10 people can have a 2-hour Museum experience for £120.
