Heritage Open Days

Every September, much of England’s fantastic architecture and culture is celebrated during Heritage Open Days, when many historical buildings open their doors to the public, giving you the chance to visit for FREE and discover architectural treasures and enjoy a wide range of tours, events and activities at buildings of every age, style and function in Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate.

This year Heritage Open Days, take place between Friday 10th - Sunday 19th September, with the theme ‘Edible England’ - we are increasingly becoming a nation of foodies and what we eat and drink is at the heart of much of our culture, our history, our communities, and our lives.

Look out for themed events of wartime cooking at Ramsgate Tunnels, Spencer Square’s ‘Van Gogh Potatoes & Herbs’ and Monkton Nature Reserve teaching outdoor cooking.

New this year are ‘Cliftonville Cultural Space (The Shul)’, ‘Theatre Royal’s Youth Takeover, Rotten Ramsgate Walk and the Spitfire and Hurricane Museum

Look out for a free programme for this years festival at your local Information Centres or at host venues. Events are listed in date order and some venues have more then one event
