Heritage Open Days: Everyday histories: Working people of the Isle of Thanet through time (11-13,15-20)

11th September - 20th September 2027

A presentation of historical images of the Isle of Thanet, from the 20th century, at the Thanet Visitor Centre in Margate.

10am - 5pm

Small exhibition featuring a series of archival photographs from the Sunbeam Collection which was the dominant commercial photographic company along the Isle of Thanet’s coast. This collection was archived by the UK’s South East Archive of Seaside Photography (SEAS Photography) project.

Drawn from the collection, the exhibition will feature some of the Isle's iconic workers and tradespeople. Spanning both the tourism industry and the wider local economy, it highlights everyone from musicians and publicans to nurses and many more.

Accessible entrance, one level, parking nearby.
