Heritage Open Days: Spencer Square Victorian Party (20)

The historic Spencer Square in Ramsgate will be celebrating with this years Victorian Life theme

11am - 6pm 

Spencer Square is a beautiful Georgian square, maintained by local volunteers. Stand where Wellington’s cavalry practiced for Waterloo. Find Van Gogh’s former home at No.11. Discover links to Spencer Gore, the very first Wimbledon champion in 1877.

The theme this year is Victorian life. Dress Victorian- you may win a prize. Watch/play tennis with free tasters, the Spencer Gore Family Tournament and an exhibition ‘Clash of Champions.’ Enjoy refreshments at Vincent’s café. Donations to Friends of Spencer Square will help the garden effort. 

Everyday Histories A Victorian Party In Spencer Square, Ramsgate from 11am till 6pm

Vincent’s café – licensed bar

  • 12 to 2pm - Spencer Gore Family Cup
  • 2pm to 3pm - Free Tennis Sessions
  • 3pm - Champions Tennis Match

Dress Victorian, there is a prize for the best outfit.
