The Ramsgate Historic Quarter Heritage Open Day celebrations this year will be at the on the site where Captain Thomas Abbotts grand mansion once stood

The house was later occupied by Lord Conyingham and featured an impressive kitchen garden and orchards.
There will be information about the Historic Quarter and its occupants in its heyday, stories of the sea captains, as well as some walking tours pointing out some of the grand mansions in which they lived.
The event is the launch of the garden in recognition of the value of heritage architecture, green spaces and community spirit all washed down with a barrel of ale, a truckle of cheese with sea biscuits.
Parking nearby at Cannon street car park (free on Saturdays), walk north-east down Paradise, turn left at the High Street and the garden is on your left.
