Rising to fame with Pacific State — the Haçienda’s iconic end-of-night anthem — 808 State pioneered the UK’s electronic sound. Fusing acid house, Detroit techno, and ambient futurism, albums like Ninety and Don Solaris didn’t just soundtrack rave culture — they helped invent it.

Still boundary-pushing in 2025, founding member Graham Massey leads the charge with a set built for forward-facing dancefloors.
