Experience Bridget Riley's 'Learning to See' exhibition at Turner Contemporary through an interactive tour designed to encourage deep looking and drawing
3.30pm – 4.15pm
This session invites participants to slow down, observe the artworks, and explore through drawing.
Focusing on one or more key pieces, you’ll take both your mind and your pencil on a discovery journey.
Each session begins in the Sunley Gallery with an introduction to Bridget Riley and the exhibition. Your facilitator will set the scene and share a few simple guidelines to help you get the most from the experience.
Ease into the session with a series of calm, guided drawing activities. These short exercises explore themes found in the Sensory Bags — Colour, Rhythm & Movement, and Repetition — encouraging you to engage your senses and draw with intention.
Together, you’ll spend time with a selected artwork from the exhibition. Your guide will offer a rich, descriptive exploration of the piece, inviting questions and conversation to deepen your understanding.
You’ll then be invited to try a drawing prompt inspired by the themes of the exhibition. This hands-on activity encourages playful experimentation and personal interpretation.
The session concludes in the Drawing Studio, where you’re free to continue developing your artwork or choose new objects to explore through drawing at your own pace.
