Waste Will Save US returns to Margate's Windmill Community Gardens for a natural dye bath session
12pm - 3pm
At this workshop, there will be a big pot of ‘seasonal colour’ to hand dye your clothing or textiles using natural dyes made from local food waste and botanicals, rethinking waste and transforming old items into new by repurposing what we already have. Breathing new life into old clothes and materials that would otherwise end up in landfill.
BYO garments or textiles for a new look... BYO garments and fabrics must be natural for the natural dye to hold (cotton linen silk etc)
A mordant using soya milk will be provided and a dye Vat with local produce or plants foraged from the gardens (selection changes each month and is based on seasonal offerings.)
This event is perfect for anyone looking for a way to gently refresh and transform your textiles, merging experimentation & nature for a relaxing summertime activity.
To further boost your creativity and in keeping with the ritual ethos of the brand your senses will be immersed in scent and sound... Moroccan mint tea will be served with mint picked from the gardens, and music will be played.
Recommended Age - Open to all ages (children to be accompanied by an adult)
