Asking the question 'Do You Want More Lust For Life?' at Where Else? in Margate
Doors open 7pm
Known for their frequent references to car parks throughout their songs, as well as having two of their biggest songs ('Football' and 'Tennis') referencing sports in their titles as well as previously having written about fame, British pub culture and falling in love with robot influencers, Liverpool’s Courting - made up of Murphy-O’Neill, Sean Thomas, Joshua Cope, and Connor McCann - are not your usual proposition for a group tied to the ‘Indie Rock’ genre tag, preferring a more open ended, revolving door method of what influences end up rubbing off in the life cycle that spins all of us out at some point.
Over three albums and one EP in just three years, they have shown they can do unashamed indie bangers with as much flair as they can pull off jittery hyperpop or innovative electronic rock. “It's equally gratifying to write something that is as big and stupid as it is to write something really weird,” says Murphy-O’Neill. “As a band we exist in those two separate worlds at the same time.”
