Art exhibition at Margate's Pie Factory.
10am to 5pm
Dani Flowerdew graduated from Central/St Martins in 1989 and has worked as an artist and art educator in a variety of settings.
Her current work centres around what we value and what we throw away, using materials found in charity shops, skips and recycling bins.
Dreamlike landscapes inspired by North Wales and East Kent are interrupted by price tags and packaging and set in battered old frames that have been thrown away. The works explore our relationship with land. We value some land for its beauty but consider some land only has value as a building site. Ultimately our relationship with land is split, tourists destroy the very places they value. Greed and consumerism destroy the natural world.
